This is a Scaphocephalum orchid. It has been blooming for the past 7 years. It has 11 flower spikes that produce sequential blooms (one after another). Each flower is about 1/2 inch wide by 1/2 inch tall. This plant needs very little special attention – a real delight.

Cirrhopetulum Elizabeth Ann Buckelberry
I collect orchids and this is one of my favorites. Normally this plant blooms once a year, in December. The flower lasts for about four to six weeks. This is a surprise bloom – out of season. The flower is an umbel and is about four inches wide by seven inches tall, it smells like a corn field.
